Tsitsipas on ANT1: “I can achieve a Grand Slam and ATP No. 1 this year”
Stefanos Tsitsipas claimed, among other things, in his statements to ANT1 that he believes that the year has come for the first Grand Slam of his career and number 1 in the ATP ranking.
Among other things, Stefanos Tsitsipas argued in his statements to ANT1 and Nikos Hatzinikolaou on Thursday evening (February 2nd) that he believes the year has come to conquer his first Grand Slam and at the same time reach number 1 in the ATP rankings.
For the games crucial for the return to the first division:
“It’s been a while since something like this happened and it’s of great value to us. This time against Ecuador and our team is in very good shape.”
On the strength of the Ecuadorian team:
“Ecuador doesn’t have their top two players in the ATP rankings, they decided not to come. It’s a chance for us to get promoted to the first division.”
On the final with Djokovic at the Australian Open and if everything would have changed if he had taken a set:
“Definitely it can change a match like that psychologically and you take a set. Especially when it’s against the best player of all time. It didn’t go my way. It might have changed if it was 1-1 in sets Don’t think about it, I learned my lesson from the final and the goal is to keep dreaming”.
When is the first Grand Slam coming?
“I’m hoping this year, I think I can and I’ve improved a lot in my game compared to previous years. I’m very confident that big things will happen this year.”
Whether the number 1 in the world rankings comes:
“I have a lot of points to defend this year and little gaps in the year where I didn’t get a lot of points that I can use and add points to.”
