Tsitsipas: “The full OAKA is something unreal, I’m proud of it”

Speaking ahead of Greece’s Davis Cup games against Ecuador, Stefanos Tsitsipas said he was looking forward to playing in the crowded OAKA.

Shortly after the Davis Cup fixtures were drawn, Stefanos Tsitsipas spoke to Cosmote TV about the fixtures against Ecuador.

Of course, he focused on the fact that the closed OAKA is expected to have more than 14,000 fans on both Saturday and Sunday, which he described as unreal for Greek tennis.

First, the fact that the games will be held at OAKA: “A great story has been written here. I haven’t seen anything like it in the field of tennis, especially in Greece. We have found such a big court that will allow us to have 20,000 fans in our games on Saturday and Sunday. That’s it. ” something unreal. I am proud that we have achieved something like this together with the association. I’m happy that I’m doing well and will be playing for the national flag. It’s one of the best feelings for me.”

On constantly playing in front of Greek fans since the beginning of the year: “It leaves a sweet taste when you get a chance to compete against a team. The United Cup left me with great memories. It gave me more than I thought it could give me. The Australian Open came after a series of games in Perth and in Sydney and it gave me a chance to really step on the gas for the Aussie.”

On what he expects to feel as he enters the packed OAKA: “It’s a moment I’ve never experienced before. I look forward to this moment. I will sleep well tonight.”.
