At 35, Rafael Nadal proves he has no intention of slowing down in 2022.
The Spaniard remained undefeated this year, winning the title at Acapulco after a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Britain’s Cameron Nori.
Having secured the trophy at the Australian Open earlier this year, Nadal has now recorded 15 wins in as many outings since the start of the campaign. Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime alone has had so many wins since January, but has four defeats.
Nadal is crowned in Acapulco for the fourth time in his career and it is the 91st title of his career in the ATP Tour.
The Spaniard was ahead in the first set with the service break in the fifth game. Then hold the first set in 51 minutes. As in the previous day against Daniil Medvedev, Nadal quickly took control of the second set with a break in the serve from the beginning.
Cameron Nori was full and the racket fell violently to the ground. The disappointment passed, the 12th racket in the world responded to Nadal with a break in the next game. Nadal, however, scored three consecutive points from the fifth game to create a 5-2 lead.
After escaping his serve once and allowing Norrie to approach a point, the one with 21 Grand Slam titles in his name closed the books on his serve.
