Greece host Slovakia for Davis Cup World Group I
According to the draw at the ITF offices, Greece will host Slovakia for World Group I next September.
Alex Molchan and his company will be welcomed by our national team as per the draw at the ITF offices next September and they have involved both World Group I and World Group II.
The total of 48 teams (in both groups) will compete in 24 home and away games, which will be played either on September 15-16 or over the two days of September 16-17. The date and the choice of place are determined by the host teams.
Winners (of 3 wins) from World Group I matches will qualify for Davis Cup qualifiers with the goal of qualifying for the 2024 Davis Cup Finals.
Slovakia, currently No. 25 in the world rankings, were finalists at the event in 2005 where they were beaten 3-2 by Croatia and are coming off the 4-0 defeat by the Netherlands in Groningen last week.
Besides Molčan, Slovakia have two more players in the top-200 in Josef Kovalik and Lukas Klein, while Lukas Pokorny and Petar Benjamin Privara complete the team.
