Unthinkable: The Moroccan has organized 135 tennis matches
The Moroccan tennis player played a total of 135 games in his career and was banned from all tournaments for life.
Not one, not two, not even 100, but 135 matches were put together by an atheophobic tennis player from Morocco, a number that represents a record in the history of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
This is due to ex-tennis player Younes Rakidi, 36, who was banned from the sport for life after he was found to have influenced 135 games.
Rakidi has been involved in match-fixing with two Algerian players who were recently banned by the ITIA following an investigation by the authorities in cooperation with the Belgian authorities.
“The case was tried by independent anti-corruption lawyer Gianni Soublier, who found all the allegations proven, imposed 135 offenses ‘outrageous’ and fined him $34,000 in addition to a lifetime ban.” ITIA said in a statement on Thursday.
Rakidi, who had the highest doubles ranking at 473, is permanently banned from playing, coaching or attending tennis events.
