Tsitsipas – Rusuvuori 2-0: He did his duty and got the ticket to the ’16’ in the Rotterdam tournament

Stefanos Tsitsipas confirmed the title of favorite accompanying him against Emil Roussouvouri, with the Greek champions winning 2-0 sets and progressing to the 2nd round of the Rotterdam tournament.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is in a miserable game state and he confirmed it again by defeating the dangerous Finn Emil Rusuvuori in straight sets to qualify for the 2nd round of the ABN Amro Open.

Despite losing 3-5 in the first part of the match, the Greek tennis player picked up his pace and defeated the world No. 52 and impressively celebrated his 4th consecutive qualification for the “16” of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam.

After 91 minutes of fighting, No. 1 on the board prevailed 7-5, 6-1 and is waiting for the game on Wednesday (15.2.) between Yannick Sinner and Benjamin Bonzi to find out his next opponent in the competition.

Win #13 of the season for world No. 3 and last year’s finalist in Rotterdam.

And it came beautifully, as the 24-year-old Greek managed to win 10 of the last 11 games of the game, forcing Roussouvoori to a ‘tough’ defeat and while he was… a breath away from winning the first set.

After Stefanos hit the gas, there was no turning back for the 23-year-old Finn. For stat buffs, Tsitsipas scored 54 of the 88 points played in the match of 3-5 of the opening frame.

However, he had the power to win 10/11 games despite Rusuvuori sending 7/11 games to debut (40-40). Tsitsipas prevailed there and showed for the umpteenth time what he has achieved in the spiritual part this year and is not affected by such situations.

Overall, despite winning just 56% of his first serves, the Greek won 45/70 points on his service games and finished the match with 4/8 break points, as opposed to just 1/2 BP by his opponent.

Tsitsipas stopped on eight effortless penalties while the Finn dropped to 19. Only one winner separated them (19 Tsitsipas, 18 Rusuvuori).
