Tsitsipas has been in the top 10 in the world rankings for three years

Stefanos Tsitsipas has three years of uninterrupted presence in the top 10 in the world rankings and Sportish remembers what he has achieved during this time.

The calendar showed March 4, 2019, when the name of Stefanos Tsitsipas entered the top ten in the world tennis rankings for the first time.

Three years later, the 23-year-old Greek tennis player is still in the top ten and indeed the last one is firmly in the top five.

On this occasion, Sportish recalls what Stefanos Tsitsipas has achieved from March 2019 to date.

The six titles and stability

Title fans will say he hasn’t done anything since not winning a Grand Slam title. But is that so?

Definitely not. In that time, Stefanos Tsitsipas has won six titles, namely the ATP Finals, the Master of Monte Carlo and four more in 250 tournaments.

He also has to show consistency in his course, which keeps him so high in the world rankings. In the three years he’s played in a total of 58 tournaments (the number would have been higher if it wasn’t for covid19) and he’s managed to reach at least the quarterfinals out of 31 of them!

That is, it has reached the top eight in more than half, while reaching the semifinals 25 times. A necessary note is that in the tables you see below, there is a two-game difference between the quarterfinals and semifinals and this is due to the fact that there is no quarterfinal stage in the ATP Finals.

In total, Tsitsipas has played 181 games from March 4, 2019 to date, recording 127 wins and 54 losses. In the concrete figures, we do not count his games in the Olympic Games, Davis Cup and ATP Cup.

As you will see in the graph below, all tournaments have a positive sign, while in three of them the percentage of wins exceeds 70%. Most impressive is the nearly 72% he has in Grand Slam matches.

His struggles against the top

All this time, Stefanos Tsitsipas has great fights against top tennis players from all over the world. Some of them compete against top 10 opponents.

Specifically, from March 2019 to date, there have been 37 matches against athletes who were ranked in the top ten in the world at the time of their match.

In these games, his record is 16 wins and 21 losses, as you can see from the table below.

If we want to open the list of his fights against top athletes even further, we can list all those who faced and passed the top-10.

He has a total of 98 games against such athletes and he is counting in them 56 wins and 42 losses in the specific period we are considering.

His course per tournament

Finally, we left his course per tournament. Below is the detailed table of his performance in each tournament from 2019 to date.
