Matija Pekotic had to reach 33 to win his first ATP Tour match. His victim is Jack Shock, formerly number 8 in the world.

Matija Pekotic (No. 784) will remember the duel with Jack Sock (No. 143) at the Delray Beach Open in Florida for the rest of his life. And that’s because it’s the first ATP Tour match he’s won in his career.

In which? Not exactly professional. You see, the 33-year-old is amateur because his full-time job is something else – it’s involved in real estate investing. So, after a long road between attritions, where he basically fought as a hobby and mostly lost, Matija Pekotic got the night he was waiting for.

He kicked out Jack Shock, an athlete who ranked No. 8 in the world in 2017.
