Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament in Doha.
In the second round match, eighth seed Kudermetova defeated US representative Sofia Kenin 6:2, 7:5. The meeting lasted 1 hour 49 minutes.
The next rival of the 25-year-old native of Kazan will be another American Corey Gauff (4th seed).
Two more Russians Daria Kasatkina and Ekaterina Alexandrova finished the fight in the tournament. Kasatkina (6th seed) lost to Brazilian Beatrice Haddad Maya, Alexandrova lost to Maria Sakkari (5) from Greece.
