Daniil Medvedev played decently in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Rotterdam, but it’s too early to say that he has gained form, according to Shamil Tarpishchev, president of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF).
In the quarterfinals, Medvedev defeated the eighth racket of the world Canadian Felix Auger-Alyassime with a score of 6:2, 6:4. This victory ended Daniil’s streak of nine defeats against tennis players from the top 10 ATP rankings.
– It’s too early to say that Medvedev has gotten in shape. The main thing now is not form, but confidence and psychology. In the match with Auger-Aliassime, Daniil played decently. The most important thing is that there are no injuries: the form will gradually gain, – said Tarpischev “Championship”.
In the semi-finals, Medvedev will face Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov.
