“Medvedev’s nervous system has not yet developed” – Tarpishchev

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev was able to find his game in the final match of the tournament in Rotterdam, but there was not that evenness inherent in him, according to Shamil Tarpishchev, president of the Russian Tennis Federation.

Medvedev defeated Italian Yannick Sinner (5:7, 6:2, 6:2) in the final match of the competition.

– In general, Medvedev’s game was not bad. Of course, in the beginning, Danya played unsuccessfully: the percentage of the first serve was very small, he worked out the match for a long time. But, in principle, Medvedev managed, the second set was very good. He found his game in long draws. But still, the nervous system had not yet developed to the end, there was not that evenness inherent in Medvedev.

Naturally, from the point of view of the emotional background, the victory in the tournament will enable Medvedev to play more stable, and the nervous system is also training. It’s too early to talk about the steps to return to the first line, but it’s absolutely possible to say that he entered the top ten and is on the rise, ”Tarpishchev told Sport24.

For the 27-year-old athlete, this trophy was the 16th in his career. According to this indicator, he took a clear 3rd place in the list of the most titled Russian tennis players, beating Marat Safin. The leader is Yevgeny Kafelnikov (26 titles).
