(Paris) The Polish Iga Swiatek, reinforced on Saturday by her victory in Doha, dominates the WTA ranking published on Monday more than ever, while the American Jessica Pegula, an unfortunate finalist in Qatar, climbs to the podium at the expense of the Tunisian Ons Jabeur .
Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka still occupies second place, pending her return to the circuit at the Dubai tournament, which began on Sunday, three weeks after her success at the Australian Open, the first of her Grand Slam career.
The women’s field is almost complete in the WTA 1000 tournament (the first category after the Grand Slams) in the United Arab Emirates, where the ten best in the world are listed. Only Ons Jabeur, injured, did not participate and therefore could not hope to quickly regain third place.
The Russian Liudmila Samsonova gains two places, to 13e rank, and achieved the highest ranking of his career.
This is also the case for her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova, now 16e world.
Further down the rankings, the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko lost six places (20e).
