All quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 series were played in Dubai (UAE) on Thursday, February 23.
Iga Sventek, the world’s first racket, managed to make it to the semi-finals after Karolina Pliskova got sick and withdrew from the competition.
Jessica Pegula, who was expected to play with Karolina Muchova, also passed without a fight in the 1/2 finals, but the Czech could not play against the American due to a stomach injury.
Barbora Kreychikova defeated AO 2023 champion Arina Sobolenko and Coco Gauff defeated compatriot Madison Keys.
