Selivanenko: “Unsuccessful start of the season for Rublev? All these dramatic statements are for armchair analysts.”
Russian Andrey Rublev played with a very strong opponent in the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Doha, the match was not supposed to be easy, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) Alexei Selivanenko told RB Sport.
Rublev lost to Czech Jiri Legechka in the quarterfinal match of the tournament in Doha. The Russian played at the tournament under the first seed number.
– Jiri is a very strong opponent, seriously progressing, so the match should not have been easy. Another thing is that, of course, Andrei lacked some elements to win with so many innings right through.
Bad start to the season? All these loud arguments and dramatic statements are for armchair analysts. Andrey has his own team of specialists who work with him and know all the nuances. None of the players plays the same way throughout the season, it’s all a natural process, – said Selivanenko.
