Wang Qiang will face Leylah Fernandez in the quarter-finals
(Monterrey) We now know the identity of Leylah Fernandez’s rival in the quarter-finals in Monterrey.

On Thursday, Wang prevailed 6-0, 6-7 (2), 6-3 over Mayar Sherif of Egypt.

Fernandez claimed a maiden WTA title last year in Monterrey, defeating Viktorija Golubic in the final.
This will be the first match between Fernandez and Wang.
The tournament favorite is Elina Svitolina of Ukraine. She will face Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria on Thursday night.
