(Paris) The Czech Barbora Krejcikova, winner of the Dubai tournament having beaten the first three players in the world, jumped 14 places to join the top 20 of the WTA ranking published on Monday, still led by the Polish Iga Swiatek.

27-year-old Krejcikova finds herself 16e world after creating a sensation last week by winning against the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (N.2) in the quarter, then the American Jessica Pegula (N.3) in the half and finally Swiatek in the final, in two sets.

The Brno player, who had been world No.2 in February 2022, is ahead of her compatriot Karolina Pliskova (17e) who advances a rank despite his package in Dubai before his quarter-final for a “viral illness”.

The Russian Liudmila Samsonova (12e) and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad (13e) exchange places while the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (18e) and Romania’s Simona Halep, former world No.1 now 19eslip two rows.

The American Madison Keys, who fell from the French Caroline Garcia (still N.5 in the world) in the first round of the Dubai tournament, climbed for her part by three places and reached the 20e rank.
