Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, judging by his performance at the tournament in Dubai, is in incredible shape, said Roland Garros semi-finalist and Davis Cup finalist Andrei Chesnokov.
On Thursday, Medvedev defeated the representative of Croatia Bornu Coric in two sets in the quarterfinals of the tournament in the UAE, and in the next match he will meet with Novak Djokovic. In this meeting, the winning streak of one of the tennis players will be interrupted: Medvedev has not lost 12 matches in a row, Djokovic – 20.
— Medvedev is now in incredible shape. Just space. It will be very difficult for someone to beat him. Today Daniil can beat Novak Djokovic. And the previous match against Borna Coric turned out to be simply unique. The segment during which Medvedev won 21 points in a row is something unrealistic. I understand if this happens in a meeting when one of the opponents is in the top 10, and the other is 300th or 500th. And something like that will be a huge rarity,” Chesnokov told Vprognoze.ru.
This match will be the 14th in the history of the confrontation between Medvedev and Djokovic. The total score so far is 9:4 in favor of the Serb.
