Medvedev ends Djokovic’s 15-match winning streak and reaches Dubai final
Daniil Medvedev (No.7) defeated Novak Djokovic (No.1) 2-0, stopping the Serbian tennis player’s streak and qualifying for the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships where he will face Rublev (No.6).
Daniil Medvedev put on a stunning performance against world number one Novak Djokovic, beating him in straight sets to reach the grand final of this year’s Dubai Tennis Championships.
The in-form Russian became the first player to defeat the 35-year-old and 22-time Grand Slam champion this year, ending the Serb’s impressive 15-game winning streak since early 2023.
Medvedev prevailed after 95 minutes of play 6-4, 6-4 and reached his third straight tour final where he will meet defending champion and compatriot Andrei Rublev.
