World number one Serb Novak Djokovic will not take part in tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami due to a refusal to enter the United States, according to US Senator Rick Scott.
The Serbian tennis player asked for permission to enter the United States without being vaccinated against coronavirus infection, but was refused.
“Biden must fix this now, give an exception and let Djokovic perform in the US,” Scott wrote on social media.
The US authorities have extended the entry ban for unvaccinated athletes until May 11. The Serb will not take part in the upcoming tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami.
