“The US is obsessed with stupidity.” Why do Americans mock the best tennis player on the planet?

The 35-year-old Serbian tennis player has won 22 Grand Slams, but continues to suffer due to his reluctance to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. The US authorities refused to let him into the country, which caused outrage from fans, athletes and even senators.
Will Djokovic fall victim to senseless formalism?
“What a disgrace. And this is the land of freedom.”
Novak still has no intention of getting vaccinated. But if covid was really a hot topic a year or two ago, now it seems that many have forgotten about it. Not in America, where strict entry rules still apply. They are expected to be canceled on May 11 this year. Until then, however, Djokovic cannot do anything. Serb tried to help American senators from the Republican Party, who wrote letters to the administration of US President Joe Biden. But it didn’t work.
So Djokovic will definitely miss a major tournament in Indian Wells. The organizers have already officially announced this. And although they did not name the reason, everyone already understood what was the matter. With a high degree of probability, Novak will miss another significant tournament in Miami, which starts on March 20. In theory, the Serbian should get to the US Open, because the law on entry will cease to operate on May 11. Another thing is that it can be extended if they suddenly decide that the coronavirus is still dangerous for Americans. In any case, the situation with the first racket of the world has already caused an angry reaction from the public.
“Joe Biden simply has to fix everything right now and make an exception for Djokovic by allowing him to play in the next tournaments,” Senator Rick Scott wrote on social networks.
The US is obsessed with stupidity. It’s incredible,” admitted the American comedian and television journalist Bill Mar.
– Djokovic should just illegally enter America through our southern border, and then everything will be fine. Then no covid vaccine will be needed,” writer Sean Parnell noted.
Don’t worry about Novak. On May 11, it will become absolutely safe for crossing the border. Until that date, he’s incredibly dangerous. Do not hesitate to doubt science, because the US authorities have been doing everything right from the first day of covid, ”wrote American tennis player John Isner.
“What a shame. And this is a country of freedom,” said another American tennis player Reilly Opelka.
Who will lose from the absence of Novak in the USA
Ordinary fans in the USA and in the world were even more indignant, who frankly ridiculed the decision of the American authorities regarding the situation with the first racket of the world.
“America has long ceased to be a serious country,” wrote No Beto.
“Joe Biden himself goes against science,” said Daniel Tochinskiy.
Why shouldn’t Novak walk to America through Mexico? asked Brian T.
“Complete absurdity,” said the Hood of Judgment indignantly.
“Meanwhile, Europe lifted all covid restrictions last summer. The current US administration is a mockery and a shame,” MEG noted.
With such a formal approach, America only makes things worse for itself. Major tournaments will lose the main star, which means that there will be fewer viewers and less income. The United States knows how to count money very well, so the organizers of tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami are hardly happy with the actions of their politicians.
But Novak himself must maintain the status of the first racket of the world, even in the face of a ban on entry into the United States. And if he is allowed to participate in the US Open, there is no doubt that Djokovic will play there with redoubled energy.
