Wimbledon organizers will oblige Russian tennis players to sign a code of conduct with a ban on everything Russian – media
Russian tennis players will be allowed to Wimbledon only after signing a special code of conduct, according to the Daily Mail.
According to media reports, the document is being finalized. But it is expected that tennis players from Russia will be required during the tournament to refrain from any overt display of support for their country, as well as wearing a flag or leaving positive comments about the Russian Federation.
In case of violation of the code, sanctions can be applied to the Russians, up to and including removal.
The Russians and Belarusians were suspended from the Wimbledon tournament in 2022 due to the events in Ukraine. For this, the organizers of the competition were fined one million dollars, and the WTA and ATP stripped the tournament of rating points.
Wimbledon 2023 will take place from 3 to 16 July.
