Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko (No. 95 WTA) took another win at the WTA 1000 tournament at Indian Wells.

The Ukrainian, who qualified in the second round, defeated 29th seeded Croatian Donna Vekic with a comeback.

It was the second meeting of tennis players in the last two weeks. At the end of February, Lesya was unable to finish her match against Donna in the competition in Monterrey, and Vekic eventually took the title.

Note that for the fifth time in Tsurenko’s career, he has reached the third round of this prestigious tournament (2013, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2023).

In the next round, the Ukrainian will face Evgenia Rodina (WTA No. 427) or Arina Sobolenko (WTA No. 2).

After the match, Vekic did not shake hands with Tsurenko.
