Only five games were played between Maria Sakkari and Shelby Rogers before the rain brought the two athletes into the dressing room.

Maria Sakkari’s game against Shelby Rogers was interrupted in the first set, while the American won 4-1 due to rain.

This was the second time the game was stopped after a few minutes before. Especially when the score was 1:1, a few drops fell, which caused the referee to interrupt the game for a few minutes and both gymnasts returned to the field.

A little later, the rain started again, and with even greater intensity, after which the referee sent the two gymnasts to the dressing room without anyone knowing when the game would resume.

According to the weather forecast for Tuesday, it is supposed to rain several times, which should massively mess up the competition schedule.

There is no indoor court in Indian Wells, so weather plays a major role in the running of the Games.
