Sakkari 2-1 Kalinina: With a new twist, Maria qualified for the fourth round of Indian Wells

Maria Sakkari found himself from behind again but managed the comeback, winning 2-1 sets against Kalinina and advancing to the fourth round of Indian Wells.

Maria Sakkari got another big qualification. Sack fell behind against Kalinina but managed the excitement, winning the set 2-1 and advancing to the fourth round of Indian Wells.

There she meets the winner of the doubles match between Pliskova and Kundermetova.

The match: Kalinina was the one who started the game stronger and was able to take a 3-0 lead with a quick break. Sakkari had her chance to regain the break in game five but the Ukrainian erased both break points she faced.

Then Kalinina did not have any particular difficulties and easily finished the first set with a score of 6-3.

In the second set, the two athletes held serve for the first two games. Kalinina got the first break, but Sakkari immediately responded with a breakback.

Sack didn’t stop there, however, as she used the next four straight games to close the set 6-2 and take the case into the third round.

In the third set, Kalinina initially smiled with a break after taking a 2-1 lead, but Sakkari reacted immediately and leveled the set.

Sack seemed to hit better than her opponent, and in game ten she broke the crucial break to end the set and the match 6-4.
