Bratoev investigated the incident in Mexico last month and found that Zverev had committed acts characterized as aggravating conduct, according to the section on serious misconduct in the ATP Code of Conduct.

The ATP explained the sanction given to Zverev as a suspension and a fine, but that they are withheld until his conduct justifies their imposition on him. The trial period ends on February 22, 2023.
