The tennis player from the Russian Federation, who entered the match wearing a Spartak T-shirt, was warned by the WTA.
Russian tennis player Anastasia PotapovaEntering the 1/16th final match of the WTA 1000 series tough tournament held in Indian Wells (USA) with the T-shirt of Moscow football club Spartak, he received a warning from the WTA.
According to British journalist James Gray, the WTA did not recognize Potapova’s behavior as “acceptable or appropriate”. This is not expected to happen again in WTA-sponsored tournaments.
Potapova, meanwhile, lost that game in three sets to Jessica Pegula 6:3, 4:6, 5:7.
