Three-time Grand Slam doubles champion Russian tennis player Elena Vesnina assessed the extent of damage to Daniil Medvedev, which he received at the Masters in the USA.
Medvedev defeated the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Indian Wells – 6:3, 7:5. During the meeting, the Russian needed a medical break due to a finger injury. Earlier in the round of 16 game against Alexander Zverev, Medvedev sprained his ankle and also needed medical attention.
– It was a little exciting after Dani’s previous match, because it was not clear how his ankle was. He fell seriously enough and it was obvious that he was in pain. The main thing is that nothing is damaged. Judging by the way he moved from the match with Davidovich-Fokina, everything is fine with him. Another victory and reaching the semi-finals of the Masters,” Vesnina said to the “Championship”.
In the semi-finals of the tournament in Indian Wells, the Russian will face American Francis Tiafoe. The game will take place on Saturday, March 18, and will start at 21:00 Moscow time.
