I never wanted to hear this diagnosis, but I was lucky that it was diagnosed early. “I had robotic surgery in the same pelvic area last week, all cancer cells were removed and I am starting chemotherapy again,” the legendary tennis player said.

Note that Evert was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December 2021. It was discovered after a woman had a prophylactic hysterectomy due to the death of her sister Jeanne. In January 2022, Chris announced that he had overcome the disease.

Former American tennis player Chris Evert said that she had a relapse of cancer.

In December 2021, Evert was first diagnosed with early stage ovarian cancer. In January 2023, she announced that she had recovered from her illness.

“Two years ago I was first diagnosed with cancer, and since then I have been open about my experience. I wanted to give you the latest news: my cancer has returned.

Although I did not want to hear this diagnosis again, I was again lucky that it was diagnosed early – using positron emission tomography. Last week I had another robotic surgery. Doctors discovered cancer cells in the same pelvic area. All the cells were removed and I started a new course of chemotherapy.

I won’t be able to be with my ESPN colleagues at the Australian Open in Melbourne next month, but I’ll be ready for the rest of the Grand Slams of the season.

I encourage everyone to research their family medical history and protect themselves. Early diagnosis saves lives. Be grateful for your health this holiday season,” Evert, 68, quotes ESPN.

The American has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record seven times at the French Open. Evert ranked first in the world rankings and won the Fed Cup eight times as a member of the US national team.

Nick Kyrgios has announced via his OnlyFans account that he will not be taking part in the 2024 Australian Open for the second year in a row.

Nick Kyrgios will not be ready for the Australian Open 2024 (January 14-28) and announced on Saturday (September 12) that he will not take part in the tournament as he has not yet returned to form after a long injury layoff.

In fact, the 28-year-old Greek-Australian tennis player announced his decision on OnlyFans, where he recently opened an account.

It’s very disappointing for me but I won’t be able to play at the Australian Open. Obviously it’s heartbreaking. I have great memories there and really wanted to be ready for this tournament. I need more time”, expressly stated.

Kyrgios is now no longer represented in the ATP rankings, as his only ATP Tour appearance came in 2023 at the Stuttgart tournament, where he was eliminated in the 1st round by Yibing Wu.
