Olkhovsky praised Medvedev’s performance at the tournament in Indian Wells
The first Russian champion of the Australian Open and Roland Garros in the mixed doubles, Andrey Olkhovsky, appreciated the performance of Daniil Medvedev at the tournament in American Indian Wells.
On Sunday, Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaras defeated Medvedev in the Indian Wells tournament final with a score of 6:3, 6:2. The Russian lost for the first time in the last 20 matches.
– First of all, I want to note the phenomenal series of Medvedev of 19 victorious matches. As for the Indian Wells final, Alcaraz was very good. The Spaniard managed to put the necessary pressure on Daniel. But the overall score for games does not fully reflect the balance of power. Medvedev fought, it was just the way the game turned out,” Olkhovsky told Vprognoze.ru.
In the updated rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Monday, Medvedev rose from sixth to fifth position, and in the Championship race, the Russian athlete rose from third to second place.
