No Novak Djokovic in Indian Wells
It’s official: Novak Djokovic will not participate in the Indian Wells tournament. Nor at the Miami Open in two weeks.
Not vaccinated against COVID-19, Djokovic confirmed on his Twitter account on Wednesday evening that he had not obtained authorization to enter the United States. It is therefore excluded from the tournaments that take place there.
“Even though I was automatically entered into the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open draw, I knew it was unlikely that I would be able to travel,” he wrote. Indeed, the current rule is that foreign visitors must be fully vaccinated to enter the United States. The Serb has not received any doses of the vaccine.

The Russian-Kazakh duo Andrey Rublev/Elena Rybakina beat the representative of Monaco, Valentin Vachereau and Iga Szwiatek from Poland in the World Tennis Continental Cup match, which takes place in Shenzhen (China).
