Ukrainian tennis player Katharina Zawatskaya (WTA 267) recognized his opponent in the 1/8th final of the 40k race held in Maribor (Slovenia).
Ukrainian will meet Rebecca Shramkova (Slovakia, WTA 276). In the previous round of the competition, she defeated Elena-Gabriela Ruze (Romania, WTA 145) with the scores of 7:5, 6:1 in two sets.
Zavatskaya and Shramkova have played twice before. Both meetings were left to Rebecca. The Slovakian representative beat the Ukrainian in the 60,000th at the French Andrezier-Buteon in 2020 and in the WTA 125 series tournament in Karlsruhe (Germany) in 2021.
Katarina started the competition in Maribor from the second qualifying round where she defeated Ekaterina Yashina. In the 1/16 final of the tournament, Zawatskaya defeated Tena Lucas.
