Tsitsipas quote on new balls: “I think that’s the reason for my injury”
At the press conference for the Miami Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas also referred to the new balls that have been used on the tour since the start of the season, and argued with them
The new balls, used in tennis since the beginning of the year, have sparked quite a debate among players, including Stefanos Tsitsipas, who complained during the Miami Open press conference.
The Greek champions, world no. 3, even stressed that he believes his injury stemmed from the specific balls on the shoulders, the wrists, the hand in general.
“I think the biggest problem this year was changing the balls and that was an issue that was discussed among the players. Balls should stay the same for most tournaments and especially on hard surfaces. This benefits us all and protects players from injury. “I got comments from other players earlier in the year about the balls and how they had a significant impact on the shoulders, the wrists and the arm in general. I think that’s the reason for my injury.” he said characteristically.
