It is official, Novak Djokovic will not be present at the Indian Wells tournament.
The name of the second player in the world was included in the main draw of the tournament, even though the United States requires foreign nationals to be vaccinated to enter their territory, but the Serb is not vaccinated.
Djokovic will also be absent from the Miami Tournament, according to what he confirmed on his Twitter account.
While I was automatically logged in to @BNPPARIBASOPEN and @MiamiOpen draw I knew it would be unlikely that I would be able to travel. The CDC has confirmed that the rules will not change, so I will not be able to play in the US. Good luck to those who play in these great tournaments ????

Yesterday, tournament organizers said they were “in contact with Djokovic’s team”, which called into question the Serb’s possible presence during the tournament.
Djokovic recently said he would rather lose a tournament than be forced to get the vaccine.
“I entered the draw automatically (to Indian Wells and Miami), but I knew it was unlikely I would be able to travel,” Djokovic wrote.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner made headlines in January when he appeared in Australia for the first major tournament of the season, but was eventually unable to take part in the tournament.
The Serb was eventually expelled from the country on the eve of the tournament. He played his first event of the season in Dubai at the end of February, where he was surprised in the quarterfinals.
