Kalinina advanced to the second round in doubles at the tournament in Miami
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina reached the second round in doubles at the WTA 1000 tournament held in Miami.
In a duet with Romanian Irina-Kamelia Begu, the Ukrainian defeated Japanese duo Shuko Aoyama / Ena Shibahara.
The Japanese won the first set, but the score was even in the next game. In the decisive set, Kalinin and Begu took the win.
In the next round, Kalinina and Begu will face the winners of Alexa Guarachi (Chile)/Erin Rautliff (New Zealand) – Yifan Xu/Zhaoxuan Yang (China).
Earlier, Kalinina lost to American Kenin in the main round.
