Alcaraz heads to Sunshine Double after winning 16 of 17 games in 2023

The world’s first racket carlos alcaraz (Spain) ATP 1000 series reached 1/8 finals in the tough tournament of Miami (USA).

In the 1/32 finals of the competition, the 19-year-old Spaniard defeated Facundo Bagnis (Argentina, ATP 100) in two sets, 6:0, 6:2 and 1/16, defeating Dusan Lajovic. (Serbia, ATP 76) also in two parties – 6:0, 7:6 (7:5).

The Masters at Miami and Indian Wells are part of the Sunshine Double event. Previously Alcaraz had won the trophy at Indian Wells.

In 2023, Carlos won 16 of 17 matches. His only defeat was in the final of the competition in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), where he lost to Cameron Norrie. There are already 2 trophies in the set of Alcaraz this season. In addition to Indian Wells, he participated in the clay tournament in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
