Djokovic: He will play normally in Monte Carlo
Novak Djokovic will play normally in the Monte Carlo champions after the relaxation of the measures in France.
Novak Djokovic is preparing for his return to the Tour in the 1st 1000m of the dirt season in Monte Carlo after the Indian Wells fiasco and his – final – withdrawal from the two US tournaments.
The Serb’s participation was confirmed via his personal website: “Novak will start this year’s dirt season from Monte Carlo.”
For their part, the organizers took to social media to emphasize the relaxation of the protective measures, while no vaccination card is required to participate in the tournament, which will take place from April 9 to 17.
“The relaxation of health measures announced by the French government, which will come into force on March 14, allows us to inform you that access to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2022 does not require a vaccination card, while the use of a mask only recommended in specific areas of the tournament to be specified at that time. “These measures are subject to any changes in legislation until April 17, 2022,” the announcement said.
This means that the unvaccinated Novak Djokovic will usually participate in his 2nd event this year after the one in Dubai.
The Serb will be participating in Monte Carlo for the 15th time, which he has won 2 times (2013, 2015) and this year is expected to be quite strong as the list already includes the name of Rafa Nadal and the title holder Stefanos Tsitsipas.
