Kamelzon is satisfied with the admission of Russian tennis players to Wimbledon
Honored coach of Russia Vladimir Kamelzon admitted that he was very happy for the Russian tennis players who will have the opportunity to play at Wimbledon in 2023.
– I can not experience anything but complete satisfaction in connection with the admission of the Russians to speak at Wimbledon. I am very happy for the Russian tennis players. We have very good guys – Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Karen Khachanov. And there are young people on the way. I think that’s great news, good luck. Finally, foreign federations are beginning to understand that the absence of Russian tennis players is impoverishing the tournament, Kamelzon said in an interview with RT.
On Friday, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), which is the organizer of Wimbledon, announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the competition in a neutral status and subject to certain conditions. In particular, athletes will be prohibited from publicly expressing support for the SVO at the tournament, receiving funding from states, and also having state-owned companies controlled by Russia and Belarus as sponsors.
Wimbledon 2023 will take place from 3 to 16 July.
