Daniil Medvedev didn’t hide his delight at winning the Miami Open and revealed he was nervous in the final with Sinner.

Great performance and clean win for Daniil Medvedev over Yannick Shiner with 7-5, 6-3who crowned him champion of the Miami Open in Florida and thus achieved 4 titles in the last 5 (!) tournaments.

In his statements after the end of the game, the 27-year-old Russian spoke about the difficulties of the match, but also about what was special about winning the title in Miami.

“I’m very happy. Today was a tough match. It was probably the hottest day with too much humidity.”said Medvedev initially and added.

“The conditions weren’t easy. I don’t know if Yannick had a minor injury or a cramp. I also struggled quite a bit during the race and tried not to show it.

I hadn’t won that big a title in at least a year and a half. In the end it was really stressful. Not even pressured as I’m not afraid to win. But my hands are still a bit shaky, so the serves were a bit stronger. However, I managed to recover and finish the game.”
