Nadal retired from the Miami Masters
Rafael Nadal withdrew from the upcoming Miami Masters (March 23 – April 3) shortly before his debut at the Indian Wells Masters and will no longer participate in the tournament this year.
Shortly before his debut at the Indian Wells Masters, Rafael Nadal withdrew his participation in the upcoming Miami Masters (March 23 – April 3) and will not be at the event this year either.
From 2017, the Spaniard will have to play in Miami, who most recently reached the final of the institution, where he lost to Roger Federer.
Despite being unbeaten so far this year, with a 15-0 win record and appearing to be going through a second youth, he doesn’t seem to have enough…gas in the tank to play back-to-back Masters tournaments.
He has decided to play in Indian Wells but won’t be playing in Miami in a few days. Therefore, immediately after the end of his course in California, he will renew his appointment with the courts for April 10th.
Then the 3rd Masters of the year begins in Monte Carlo, with Rafa expected to return to Monaco to start this year’s dirt season and compete in a tournament he has won 11 times in the past!
Nadal’s place at the top of the Miami Masters was taken by Australia’s John Millman, ranked No. 77 in the ATP world.
