Kafelnikov joked about Medvedev’s chances to become the first racket of the world again
Olympic champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov does not know if Russian Daniil Medvedev can again become the first racket of the world.
On Sunday, Medvedev won the Masters in Miami, defeating Italian Yannick Sinner in the final. Earlier, the Russian also won titles at tournaments in Dubai, Doha and Rotterdam, reached the final in Indian Wells.
– I don’t know if it’s realistic for Medvedev to become the first racket again this year. In this case, everything depends on Daniel. Everything is in his hands, not in mine, ha ha,” Kafelnikov told Sport24.
Medvedev, after winning the Masters series tournament in Miami, climbed to fourth place in the ATP rankings and led the Champion race.
