Russian tennis player, 25th racket of the world Anastasia Potapova told how the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) reacted to her appearance on the court in a Spartak T-shirt.
Earlier, the Russian woman went to the warm-up before the match of the tournament in Indian Wells in a red-white T-shirt, after which she received a warning from the WTA for this.
“No one approached me. One of the WTA supervisors, with whom I am on good terms, wrote to me: “Nastya, what was the message of this exit?” I told the truth: that I support the club, it was in support of my club. To which they told me: “Okay, we understand you. It’s just that, unfortunately, in the rules for WTA competitions, we can’t advertise other sports.” If I went out in a basketball jersey, it would also be impossible. There are no such rules in the ATP, so everyone comes out in basketball jerseys. And everything is fine. But they did send a photo – a screen from the “Book of Rules”. Formally, there was a violation, I was warned, but without any sanctions.

On Saturday, Potapova, at the invitation of the Red-Whites, attended the match of the 22nd round of the WORLD RPL Spartak – Dynamo (3: 3). The tennis player hit the ball for the first time.
