Potapova said she calmly reacted to Gracheva’s decision to represent France
Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova said she calmly reacted to the decision of Varvara Gracheva to obtain French sports citizenship.
The French Tennis Federation previously told Match TV that Gracheva had applied for sports citizenship of the country. Gracheva has been training in Cannes since 2016 and has lived in France for seven years.
– How did you react? Absolutely calm. This is her choice. I have known Varya since I was nine years old, we have traveled all the world and European championships in the team under 14 years old. Always lived with her. That is, I have known Varya for a very long time. And I also know that she has been living in France for a very long time, and she doesn’t keep anything in Russia, so if such an offer comes in and plus Varya has never played for our team, then why not? If this is better for her career, for life, then I wish her great luck. And this will not affect my communication with her – we will also be friends, communicate and train together, – quotes the words of Potapova “Championship”.
