Olympic champion, former first racket of the world Yevgeny Kafelnikov considers the chances of Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev to win the clay tournament in Monte Carlo (Monaco) to be minimal, and also generally does not expect anything good from his game during the clay segment.
– Medvedev’s chances of winning Monte Carlo are minimal. I don’t expect anything good from Medvedev’s play on clay, based on his “love” story with this surface. So far, there are no prerequisites that he will perform well on the ground. I hope I’m wrong, but the picture is now like this. I think that Dana will not be able to win even one tournament on clay. He doesn’t believe in it himself – that’s the point. We have to wait for the grass part of the season. Any tournaments, but not the ground, – said Kafelnikov “Championship”.
Medvedev starts the tournament in Monte Carlo with a match against Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
