The WTA has announced its decision to resume tournaments taking place in China starting in September.

The WTA has decided to stop punishing China after around 1.5 years in the Shuai Peng case.

According to their announcement, we will start hosting tournaments in China again next September: “After 16 months of suspension of tennis games in China and continued efforts to meet our initial demands, the situation has shown no signs of changing.

We have come to the conclusion that we will never fully achieve these goals, and it will be our players and tournaments that will ultimately pay a heavy price for their sacrifices. For these reasons, the WTA lifts the suspension of holding tournaments in the People’s Republic of China and will resume holding tournaments in China in September this year.”.
