The winner of two Grand Slam tournaments in mixed doubles Andrei Olkhovsky called the score in the match between Daniil Medvedev at the Masters in Monte Carlo (Monaco) and Alexander Zverev a little strange.

The meeting ended with a score of 3:6, 7:5, 7:6 (9:7) in favor of Medvedev.

– A bit strange match from the point of view of the score. That is, Zverev had so many chances, he applied for the match twice. If Medvedev believed that he could play on clay and played from the first ball the way he played the end of the second and third sets, there would be no problems.

Daniil is playing very well and fast now. Probably, psychologically, you think that this is a different surface and therefore harder. But Daniil can also play hard on clay. I don’t know what happened with the serve: 4:4 – two doubles. Well done for pulling together and winning the match,” Olkhovsky said to the “Championship”.

Medvedev failed to reach the semi-finals of the ATP 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. In the quarterfinal match, the Russian, who received the third seed, lost to the ninth seeded Dane Holger Rune.
