Monte Carlo Masters: Sinner defeats Musetti in Italian Civil War to advance to semifinals
Yannick Sinner turned his one-man show into a match against Lorenzo Muzzetti, winning 2-0 sets and reaching the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters.
Yannick Siner continued his impressive performances, beating Lorenzo Muzzetti 2-0 in sets in the Italian Civil War to advance to his semi-finals Monte Carlo champion.
Shiner confirmed his excellent form and didn’t give his opponent much room, losing only four games (two in each set).
In fact, the 21-year-old Italian became the youngest player in the Open era to reach the semifinals at Indian Wells, Miami Open and Rolex Monte Carlo Masters in the same year. Before him, Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray had accomplished this feat.
Shiner averaged 24 wins in the season (24-5) and 7th in the tournament (7-2) while recording his 20th win of the year in 23 games against players outside the top 10 in the world rankings.
