Former employee of the Ukrainian Tennis Federation dies in battle
Denis Zavgorodniy, former employee of the Ukrainian Tennis Federation, died in the war with Russia.
“The Ukrainian Tennis Federation announces with regret that Denis Zavgorodny, a former employee of the FTU and several tennis clubs in Kiev, died while performing combat duties in eastern Ukraine.
Dozens of tennis courts across the country were built by his hands. He was the one who prepared the playing field in the match played against Japan as part of the Billie Jean King Cup at the Black Sea Elite Tennis Club. The tennis community is shocked by this sad news and offers its condolences to the friends and family of Hero, who laid down his life for the future of a free Ukraine. “May the world rest in peace for you Denis,” the Ukrainian Tennis Federation said in a statement.
