Stefanos Tsitsipas has held his first training session in Barcelona ahead of his Barcelona Open debut, covering his right hand with blue physiotherapy tape.

Stefanos Tsitsipas held his first training session in Barcelona ahead of his Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell debut, with the Greek tennis player covering his right arm from wrist to shoulder with blue physiotherapy tape, meaning they haven’t given up on shoulder problems just yet.

Tsitsipas has a 1st round bye and is waiting to find out his opponent on Tuesday (4/18) who will result from the clash between Pedro Katsin and Heis Brauer, one of the two, on Wednesday (4/19).

However, Tsitsipas will also (for the second time in a row) compete in doubles where, along with experienced doubles player Nicolas Mahout, they will face Matve Midelkup and Andreas Mies in the 1st round.

At the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Tsitsipas will compete in a tournament for the fifth time in his career, reaching the final twice in both 2018 and 2021, losing to the institution’s multiple winner Rafa Nadal both times.

Last year, the 24-year-old reached the quarter-finals, where he was eliminated by eventual champion Carlos Alcarath.
