Molchanov reached the 1/4 final of the doubles tournament in Banja Luka
Ukrainian tennis player Denis Molchanov, along with Andrey Golubev from Kazakhstan, reached the quarter-finals in doubles at the ATP tournament held in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
In a long match of the first round of the competition, Molchanov and Golubev defeated Robert Helloway of the USA and Miguel Angel Rees Varela of Mexico 7:6 (7:4), 4:6, 11-9.
On the first match day, the match was interrupted due to rain. At that time, the Ukrainian and Kazakh tennis player was losing 1:3 in the decisive tie-break. The pause turned out to help Molchanova and Golubev.
The Ukrainian-Kazakh duo will compete for the semi-final ticket with Sweden’s Andre Goransson and Japan’s Ben McLachen.
