Pliskova – Sakkari 2:0: Clear defeat for Maria and disqualification from the Stuttgart Open
Maria Sakkari lost to Karolina Pliskova 0:2 (6:2, 6:3) and her career at the Stuttgart Open came to an inglorious end.
Maria Sakkari failed to overcome her obstacle Karolina Pliskovawhen she lost 0:2 sets (6:2, 6:3) and thus ended her run at the Stuttgart Open.
The Greek champion showed herself to be inferior to the circumstances, especially in the first set, in which the Czech easily prevailed 6:2 and put in two breaks when Sakkaris served.
In the second set, Sakkari had a better competitive image and tried to turn things around. Up until the sixth game, the two tennis players went hand in hand and were tied (3:3).
However, in the seventh, Pliskova grabbed a break (4-3) which was key to winning the second set. In the ninth game that Sakkari served, Pliskova earned her fourth break to win the final.
